Craig A. Horton DMD, MS is a native of Oconee County, South Carolina. He graduated from Walhalla High School and enrolled at Presbyterian College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 2001, Dr. Horton was accepted into the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he received a D.M.D. degree in 2005. He is a recipient of the South Carolina Dental Association Scholarship Award in 2004. Dr. Horton began his career as a general dentist in Walhalla and Pendleton, South Carolina. He practiced for two years before returning to a residency in Prosthodontics at the University of Florida. He earned a Masters of Science in Dental Sciences, as well as a certificate in Prosthodontics, and completed a research project titled, “Dental Habilitation of Congenitally Missing Maxillary Lateral incisors: Perspectives among dental specialists”. He served as Chief Resident in his residency and will continue as visiting faculty in the Prosthodontics Department at the University of Florida.

Dr. Horton is excited to return to the Upstate to join his wife, Dr. Camille Horton, a Pediatric Dentist, in their state-of-the-art facility.

Dr. Horton is currently a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Piedmont Dental Society, and Tri-County Dental Society. Dr. Horton has received additional advanced training around the country and abroad in Frankfurt, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland. This coursework includes courses at the Pikos Implant Institute, Arun Garg’s Implant Seminars, Misch Institute, Dawson Academy, Melker Seminars, Frankfurt University and the University of Zurich among others. Dr. Horton has also given lectures in the field of surgical and restorative implant dentistry for multiple implant companies.

Dr. Horton is dedicated to providing quality dental care at the highest standard of technical excellence. He treats each patient from a comprehensive approach and serves as a leader of a collaborative team involving general dentists, dental specialists, and lab technicians, to offer his expertise in the specialty of Prosthodontics, including Implant, Esthetic, and Reconstructive Dentistry.

  • Esthetic dentistry (crowns, veneers, tooth-colored restorations, and whitening procedures)
  • Implant Dentistry – Dr. Horton was trained in BOTH the surgical placement and restorative aspects of implant dentistry, such as implant-assisted overdentures and implant-supported fixed dentures. Prosthodontics is the only dental specialty that requires training in residency for BOTH surgical and restorative implant dentistry
  • Reconstructive Dentistry (crowns, bridges, dentures, traumatic injuries to the teeth, and complex rehabilitations)
  • TMJ-related problems, including orofacial and jaw-related pain disorders
